TORBANE HALL GOLF COURSE

Project Overview...

The brief for this project required the creation of a challenging 18-hole golf course complete with clubhouse, practise facility, and green-keepers compound. The developer required the golf course to form the centrepiece of a concept that, subject to planning permission, would comprise housing and/or a hotel. The developer requested the architect select the best possible golfing terrain available on the site.

Site Information...

Torbane Hall Site

The destructive impact of long term mineral extraction has resulted in a recently reconstructed, relatively barren, landscape. Extensive restoration work was carried out in an attempt to return the landscape to the rural landscape characteristics of the surrounding area and recreate a space once considered a sensitive geographical and environmental location.
