CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION

Construction perfection...

Golf course design is by no means an exact science but the process of being able to move a vision from being, simply, an idea to a piece of paper then into an environment in which to play exciting golf is the challenge of the job. Supervising the eventual shaping of the contours becomes the last opportunity to ensure the vision has been captured - perfectly.

Time to get the builders in...

Golf Architecture International is in a position to prepare all documents required to put the project to tender and will provide continuous advice throughout the selection process. The selection process is supported by preparing preliminary project construction quantities which provide preliminary construction cost estimates.

The nature of the project undertaken will have a bearing on the construction company selected, with previous experience and skill levels of the work force being important considerations.

Completing the project involves having a new development ready for play, so the grow-in process - and the liaison with the Course Manager/Head Greenkeeper - becomes important to get the golf course presented in the manner best suited to display its prominent features.

A hands-on approach...

The only way to guarantee the correct interpretation of the project plans is to take a hands-on approach to overseeing construction. The level of detail that can be attached to a construction drawing is minimal compared to the detail achievable by a skilled shaper.

Regular visits ensure the golf project is carried out to the high standards and methods shown in the plans and, by regularly being on-site to take care of any design subtleties, helps maintain the projected construction schedule.
