COMPANY
PROFILE
Background…
Based
in
Scotland
, Golf Architecture International was founded by Kenneth Imrie, a Masters
graduate in Golf Course Architecture from
Edinburgh
University
, to offer professional advice and design solutions that meet with the high
expectations of the modern golfer whilst satisfying the requirements of our
clients.
Services…
The
design services provided by Golf Architecture International originate from the
objectives of the client. These form guidelines that can be explored and
subsequently delivered so as to maximise the potential of every project. These
services cover all aspects of golf course design from;
- new build projects to renovating existing layouts
-
initial feasibility and planning to detailed design and construction supervision
By
providing alternatives, and through assessment of budget requirements, the
client or golf club is provided a degree of freedom to decide the solution best
suited to their situation.
Design
approach…
Golf
Architecture International’s approach to any design is based upon sound design
principles coupled with an intimate knowledge of the setting and environment
encountered.
A
golf architect’s prerogative is to be involved at the earliest possible stage
of the project so as to grasp an early understanding of project objectives which
eventually leads to the best land-use solutions. Early involvement and advice on
matters such as site feasibility and planning considerations can help minimise
eventual construction costs.
A
thorough investigation of the site is combined with time to fully appreciate the
personality and character of the land – with this personal encounter
identifying elements and features that emerge naturally from the landscape
before becoming golf holes and strategies that challenge the skill and mind of
the player.
Realising the
environmental potential of a project is equally as important as the design
principles applied to the design. Creating an environmental strategy will aid in
the design of the out-of-play areas on any golf course and helps create the
positive environmental impact that should be associated with golf developments.
