The purpose of the bunker audit is to examine the existing combination of bunker placement, construction style and aesthetic details to establish the essential improvements to be made prior to undertaking bunker remodelling. From this process of analysis we are able to work together on the preferred bunker construction method (bunker liners, sand selection etc) which all impact on the design proposals.

Typically the onsite analysis of an 18 hole course is conducted over 2-3 days. The broad components examined are:

bunker areas (survey work conducted prior to visit using aerial photography)
bunker placement and impact on playing strategies
relevance of bunker playing to modern playing requirements
investigate original features and historical design characteristics

Further detailed survey work is conducted on a bunker by bunker basis to establish the following:

existing and potential bunker drainage improvements
potential shaping modifications to improve bunker playability and aesthetics
the combined effects of shaping modifications and sand type on ongoing bunker maintenance

This thorough survey and analysis process is returned to you by way of a detailed hole by hole bound presentation which examines the overall bunker strategy for your golf course as well as providing a breakdown of construction requirements for each bunker.

Complete with aerial photography and CAD graphics, the presentation clearly depicts existing bunker areas and design proposals. The standard Bunker Audit Service includes edited photographs of significant changes showing the aesthetic impact of the design proposals.
